2 months later...

Hey everyone!

As usual, I apologize for not posting more often. Things have been a tad hectic since Sammy was born, and being the big sister that I am, I haven't had much time to put into the blog. I'm real helpful to Mommy and Daddy. For example, when they change Sam's diaper, I will take it and throw it away for them! Sometimes, if I'm feeling extra helpful, I'll even bring them back something from the garbage pail!

Anyway, let's see if I can update everyone on what has been happening for the last couple of months. I'll also post some pictures of both me and Sammy, eh, Sammy and I. Finally, Sammy and I have been talking and we are thinking of combining our blogs. Sammy doesn't really have much interest in keeping his blog current, not that I'm much better, but between the two of us we should be able to get at least a couple of posts a week. We'll keep you updated on what we decide. Until then, you will have to keep checking both our blogs. Daddy gave me a link, http://www.blogger.com/profile/05614970948446699702, which you can use to get to both blogs.

Now for the updates: Brother Sam was born on January 20th and came home about a week later (see his blog for birthday pics). Mommy stayed in the hospital with him after he was born because he was pretty bruised up and had jaundice and he's nursing. That means he doesn't use a bottle unless Daddy is feeding him. See...I know stuff....

He came home and I admit for the first couple of weeks I didn't want anything to do with him. If Mommy or Daddy put me near him, I would try and smack him! I was going to show him who was boss. But the little bugger grew on me and now, when I wake up from a nap the first thing I want to do is go look at him. I gladly give him hugs and kisses and am always trying to help with him. If he is crying, I will go searching for his pacifier and will give it to him if he is in his bouncy chair or bassinet! I really do love him and there will be a long term bond with him.

Big brother Neil moved out of the house in December. I don't know all of the details (I am just a toddler!) but every once in a while, Neil would come over and see me. I always got excited when he would come home and am always very happy to see him. He moved back into the house about 10 days ago (yeah!!), so I get to see him a little more often! He is still planning on joining the Marines, and is set to leave for basic training at the beginning of June.

Other things have been happening, too.... Unfortunately at the end of February, Daddy lost his job. The company he was working for ran out of money and he was one of the late casualties. He is currently looking for a new job, so if you know anyone hiring, give him a call. He can do anything!

A few weeks ago, Sammy got an ear infection. Because of his age at the time (5 weeks old), he had to be admitted to the hospital for about 5 days to get an IV with antibiotics. That was not fun for anyone. Daddy and I spent most nights at home while Mommy stayed in the hospital with Sammy. I didn't like being apart from Mommy and Sammy but he is all better now and home. Sam is already reaching some milestones like holding his head up, smiling, and starting to try and "talk". I just wish he would do something with his hair! Mommy always put a bow or pony tail in my hair - do you think she would notice if I did that to Sam?

I actually started writing this post from the hospital myself. On Tuesday the 11th of February, I had another febrile seizure like I had in September of last year. This time we believe it was caused by a virus that's going around with high fevers and a barking cough. I got to ride with Neil in the ambulance to the hospital. This time the hospital was closer to home so it was easier for Mommy, Daddy, and Sam to spend time with me. Once again, Daddy stayed with me at the hospital most of the time and Mommy and Sam had to stay at home. (He's such a great dad!! I would have been very scared without him by my side.) Our doctor -Dr. Farid- said there were more germs at the hospital that Sam could catch so since he just got home himself, Mommy and Daddy decided to keep him home as much as possible. They didn't want us BOTH sick at the same time. Sammy must have missed me something fierce cuz Mommy brought him to see me for a little while - what a great brother! I felt much better getting to see everyone.

Well, I'm home now and still trying to shake this cold thing - I've even given it to Mommy and Daddy so that we can all get better together so I'd better go and rest for now. Mommy says since Daddy is looking for a job so much, she'll try to help me put the pictures on the blog. We just have to get them off the laptop (? Whatever that means).

Love, hugs, and kisses!

Melody
